Management Deer Hunt with Dogs

I've hunted with dogs in VA. and we wait til the drive is through or the dogs come through before looking for the deer. From what i know we recovered the deer we shot as the dogs will circle back and find them. but it is no excuse for poor shooting...but you can't expect to make every shot either. that's why they call it a sport.

What do you do, just shoot at every deer that runs past and never bother to check to see if you made a hit? Nothing to do with hunting with dogs if its legal there...but....Slob hunters

Coulda made that first shot if you had a shell in the chamber BEFORE getting within earshot of the doe.

Everyone is quick to interject their opinion on deer hunting with dogs. In my opinion to each their own. I still hunt during the early season and dog hunt during the general firearms season. There are ethical ways to hunt with dogs, the club I hunt with has a weight rule for certain tracts and we participate in QDM, and as for using shot vs slug the county I hunt with mandates buckshot. Just a question to you anti dog hunters...ever try it?

Wow, this is terrible. You can't be proud or feel any pride in killing a deer this way. I can't even imagine how many of these deer are wounded and never found shooting like this.
