I have to say he's wrong about the (economic) impacts of AGW, which are already hitting hard with droughts, fires and freak storms, like Sandy. A tipping point with AGW could really accelerate the process, but maybe Peak Oil will be a savior of sorts, forcing conservation when nothing else would.

People who still believe in abiotic oil are impossible to reason with on this issue. They refuse to accept the peaking phenomenon, even though it's obvious and historical.
Others never bother to do the production, consumption & EROEI math, e.g. shale hype. That same crowd also trivializes environmental impacts of oil, including CO2 and the desecration of large desert tracts for full-on shale processing.
The rest just seem apathetic and assume "they" will fix the whole mess, whoever "they" are.

Reality is too painful for the masses... Peak Oil is a dilemma not a problem. Dilemma's don't have solutions....

Peak oil is now. It is too late to come up with a 'solution'. The collapse of our civilization is inevitable and soon. So...why worry about something you can't do anything about. Sure...drive a Prius if it makes you feel better. And plant a vegetable garden!
