Brooks Orpik hits Jeff Skinner with a good open ice hit. Sadly Skinner is injured on the play. It could be his second concussion this year. January 17th 2012.

@iatkinson00 What the fuck are you talking about? First off, re-read your post because it doesn't make sense. Orpik wasn't suspended. Second off, there was no intent to injure. This is hockey, you're allowed to hit people. Big, clean hit by Orpik. It sucks Skinner got shaken up, but if you're in the NHL, you need to know to keep your head up.

I know that play. Orpik made a good decision. In hockey as defensemen, when we pinch like that we are taught to either go for puck or body. He chose body obviously.  On Skinner's side, its more difficult. You either take a chance with poke-checking the puck behind the d-man, or brace yourself for the hit. You guys are all saying to keep your head up which is true, but that isn't the only factor in this play.
