WTF happened at 4:00 and afterwards?
Still, better than what most could do today....its a shame that even when she was doing probably her worst performance that a modern singer could not pull of that tone and emotion.

Nobody loves her more than I do, but this is not one of her better performances. Phrases were broken up with breaths in the wrong spot and she was a little bleaty. However, a couple of years later, I saw her live in Chicago in recital and she sounded completely different. What's amazing is that 50 years or so after her career began, she's still singing very well. Elsewhere on Youtube is a recent O, Mio Babbino Caro that's as good as anyone half or a third her age.

oh God... i see a pattern here of you leaving annoying little comments everywhere...
Happy to see again this performance.
It was one year after her come-back with Don Carlo in France. Despite her strong decline in 80's, she sings her first aria perfectly : a dream. Very good "souvenir".

What I notice here is that she is consistently behind the beat, (like she and conductor couldn't agree) but the voice is still easy, free, and beautiful. These people are human. Could she have been ill? This is still rare singing.
