@pjdambra yea i went to that show too. It was awazing Gary Hoey is in my top 5 just his style and how smooth his transitions are. The most underrated guitarist out there hands down!!!!

@tighttritenight Yeah tighttritenight, It's nice to see a comment survive more than 3 years now.. Gary is great but it's unfair to him and everybody else to rate anyone the Greatest.. I coincidentally just seen Gary again last night at his annual "Ho Ho Hoey" show.. He was as good as ever. Is he the Greatest? I don't know, but is he my personal favorite, yes I do know that.. You really need to see Gary perform live and I'm sure you'll raise your rating higher than an OK..

well, I'm nearly as old as you (and, of course, also saw many great guitar players). But, I'm sure: There is NO SUCH THING AS THE GREATEST BEST GUITAR PLAYER!

I'm 59 now, and in my time I've seen what I thought to be the best of all the great guitar players. Hendricks, Clapton, Beck and on and on, until last night.. Last night I seen Hoey for the 1st time live, and I can now say Gary is the Greatest Guitar Player ever seen.. 7/12/08 Twin River, Rhode Island.. Incredible free show and meet and greet after the show... What a genuinely nice guy to go along with his unbelievable skills. If you never seen him play it's a must see show.. Awesome Band too.
