  • I saw them do this song in San Francisco in 2005 and the crowd seemed pretty familiar.

  • so did the crowd know the song? i love silver jews...piano is a nice addition....

  • Ha no worries. I'm just one of those people that gets so used to the way a song sounds on a record when people do a LOT of improv and play with the melody it gets on my nerves. Stupid I know but it's just one of those things...

  • Haha man, don't tell me that! I'm seeing them next Friday. I mean, even seeing him wobble around the stage should be worth the 20 bucks.

  • Yeah but unlike dave john can remember the melodies for his songs and even for other people's songs. Silver Jews are awesome but seeing them live is like seeing a really bad cover band.

  • All the chords are wrong! I guess it's official, I like Berman more than Darnielle. It took this to really drive it home.

  • I love Mountain Goats and I love Silver Jews, but I don't think they combine well, like Cheese and Candy, or Ketamine or Beer, or Sunday Lunch and Masturbating...

  • amen to that! the way they turn this dark meditation into a hilarious adrenaline rush is genius. i probably listen to the silver jews more hours of the day than any other person alive, and i don't think that's an exaggeration. and I never thought I'd see a jews cover this good. search "rebel jew" if you really want to see david berman in action. and watch my stuff too.
