A new addition to the Virtual Drumline Sibelius 5.2.5 Template is a useful collection of "Trigger Test" files. These files contain groupings of instrument staves in different families, and each of these staves has every mapped VDL pitch entered into them. When playing back one staff at a time while viewing the Kontakt Player 2 interface, you can watch each note being triggered on the KP2 on-screen keyboard. In this demonstration, Hugh Smith shows the importance of assigning the 5.2.5 Soundset while using the 5.2.5 template and how using the older 5.2 soundset doesn't function properly. Using these trigger test files is a good way to test your configuration, as well as a good way to learn more about the various sounds contained in various VDL patches. The VDL Sibelius Template 5.2.5 can be purchased as a direct download on the Tapspace website at http://www.tapspace.com.
Is the downloadable template a list of the instruments and their keys and at what octaves? I'd hate to play and erase 30 notes to find the right sample.
