Comparable. African belly dance form. Ngoma

Derived from the early Hamitic kingdoms of East Africa/Kemet. The dances of the waist and hips had it's origins from the Hamitic people. Forms of this dance was carried all over Africa and elsewhere with wide varieties being created and performed all over the continent and wherever Hamitic/Cushite peoples traveled. Some very slow, some medium, some very fast.

Later Semetic settlements into Kemet and north africa would mimic and adopt the dance of the Hamitics, forming their own versions of it and spreading it throughout the middle east, the dance that has come to be known today as Belly dance.
