Ain't Misbehavin' Brian Ogilvie
Originally all from Vancouver the three Ogilvie brothers lived in Toronto for a few years. Brian played clarinet and tenor sax and was a member of our Climax Jazz Band in 1980. Don plays guitar and was always very inspired by the Django Reinhardt idiom. Ken plays the bass.
In 1987 the Ogilvie Brothers played in a minifestival in Scarborough Town Centre (Scarborough is a suburb of Toronto)
For this occasion they added drummer Russ Farron.
Brian was always ver much influenced by the early Ellington clarinet styled players like Omer Simeon, Barney Bigard and Albert Nicholas.
They play their arrangement of Waller's Ain't Misbehavin'
(We had just bought our first video 8 camera and had to try it out during this jazz party) ( We all very much miss Brian who died on tour in Europe in 2005)
so sorry we lost such a great musician at such a young age...Mike Danton
