MST3K style commentary on this very informative yet somehow uninformative short about dental hygiene. The film appears to be geared toward paramecia. Commentary by Josh Way, footage courtesy of archive.org.

  • Good god this is hilarious. As a hopelessly obsessed MST3K fan I was skeptical at first, but you are just brilliant. I love all of your work!

  • You're too kind, Tybaar. Thanks for watching!

  • So, when you lay face down on the lawn under an umbrella you're helping your teeth, but when you lounge by a river with a hat on your face you're a lazy sod? Teeth are highly context-sensitive, aren't they?

Sunshine...on my toothbrush...makes me hap-py...Sunshine on my grinding surfaces makes me cry...

  • you could't put your time to better use. REALLY REALLY, what if you are trying to solve world hunger?

  • 9:09 O look. The dentist is flipping us off. Well, maybe in 1939 it didn't mean anything back then.

  • Hard 2 believe this film was made in between the days of "Boardwalk Empire" & "Mad Men."

  • 1:07 Lime? As in the fruit or that crap in your shower?

  • Wow. Unless my brain fails me, this was made in 1939? The year World War II began? That's pretty damn old.

  • Oh my god, I didn't know this until I saw it again but the Dentist is not wearing gloves! That is a big Health Safty No-No!

  • @tomservo56954 Yeah, it is, they never even mentioned flossing in this video whereas in other dental hygein videos that is always the most common recommendation to do espically after brushing. I think that is what is so amazing about these old educational videos, not because of thier educational content but just the fact that they are like a time capsule in itself for us.

  • @sillygrl23 That's because the typical toothbrush had bristles made from hog's hair. It was only the year before this short was made (1939), the first toothbrush with nylon bristles was introduced. It's amazing when you realize this was long before so many things for dental care came out we take for granted...fluoride, flossing, powered brushes.

  • Cod Liver Oil....*barf* ....also why did you have to soak your new toothbrush in a cup of water and salt. I was never told to do this by my parents or a dentist back when I was a kid. This is the first time I have heard of this bit of information.
