dxdragondude they are almost EXACTLY THE SAME!!!!!! except pearl has different pokemon then diamond but thats y u trade AND use AR!

nah, there are some key differences, 1:the shiny patches don't shake, only sparkle, 2:they sparkle twice dramaticly, and 3: after they sparkle they have a slight pinkish hue, or some other color, i can't remember

How long does it usually take for you to get a shiny off of a basic chain. An hour? 5 days? I need to know so I can have an idea of what number to go for. Someone said 20 is okay so what do you recomend.

Usually 10-20 minutes at 40, I wouldn't even try at 20. The chances double just from 39 to 40.
