A wonderfully exotic and rare glimpse at the phenomenon that was The Techno Twins - Bev Sage and Steve Fairnie - here they wave their magic wand over the classic from the Blue Angel... watch out for guest appearance from Tim Dry...

  • I remember them both comparing at Greenbelt, they were my idols in the early 80s

  • @homefrontfriends Mine too... reminds me, must post those Greenbelt photos - maybe a montage... Mmmm...

  • I'm told that this is the Queen of the rapping scene. Is this true?

  • @MartiW 'Tis true...

  • There was a faster more disco type version of this song that I loved. I think it was by the "Technos". It had some guy singing "lovely" at the beginning. It is definitely the same song and the same group. I only heard the song a few times at clubs when I was 19, but it always stuck in my head. Now I have it on disc.

  • @dmatanes This is the original version. About two years later under the name The Technos they released the faser, dancier mix.

  • Today I met Bev at the University of Wetminster.

She also had hits with a band called Modern Romance.

  • I bought the album. Boy am I old.

  • love this and klaus nomi's version

  • In 1988 (I think) Bev & Steve shortened the name to "The Technos" The did an album "Songs for a Nervous World" In 1991 I happened upon it (cassette) in one of those $1 dollar stores. Unusual music..kinda stays with you!

  • I love this song. My daughter has nicked my 7" vinyl copy, and her daughter waggles around the livving room in time to the music. Many happy memories of the alternative scene in Manchester

  • I remember them @ Greenbelt. They should have been big.
