On stage, Bono and Bob Geldof challenged the colonial model of rich people helping poor countries. Celebrity saviours who used their
rockstar charm to win over world leaders.Bono launched the Red Campaign and went on a spending spree with Oprah to raise money for
the global AIDS fund. Mega-brands agreed to donate a portion of the profits from red-branded goods. Concerts, handshakes, shopping.
Super-elite negotiations on behalf of the world's poor. Are these really the solutions to hunger and poverty? Paul Vallely,
Associate Editor of The Independent and Bob Geldof's travel partner across Africa, defends the Bonoization of development.

Meanwhile Bush and Blair push structural adjustment and privatization onto Africa, increase arms sales and ensure that subsidized agricultural products are dumped on developing countries - destroying local economies and wrecking sustainable development.

AIDS is a scheme. Do your research. Every three seconds an African child dies unnecesarily. Every three second Bono earns 8 Pounds of the money you send and poverty is not history. Dr. Gary Null did research about HIV AIDS and you will be shocked with his findings.

as an african i can't see what good any of the work of bono et al is doing. it seems to me that they are in the long tradition began by missionaries. they are the smoke screen that says we are looking after poor africans who can't look after themselves while big businesses take what they want. thanks for your fantastic excellent films. they are a real eye opener.

agree also I spoke to some Africans and from what theyve told me, they could care less about Bono and that Bono is for Bono.

Good to see someone questioning this, especially the Red-project which is a scam.
What we need to do is reduce our consumption, not increase it! Talk about getting it all wrong.
