I've always liked Betty. She's definitely an original with her phrasing and vocal timbres. She's one of the only people I can stand to hear scat; it's done badly so often. Betty is greatness! 8-)

Betty Carter was a marvel, a genius, and one of the people who really tried to keep Jazz alive.
I won't look myself, because I don't want to become ill, but I'll bet that any Brittany Spears video on here has 1000's of viewers and comments on it.

She is bad (as in good). The notes she finds, hits, and hears are amazing to me. I would climb out on that vocal tree and break branches from my vocal fall. I am not well versed in her music, which means I have some music shopping to do in order to catch up.
