i'm not straight edge but this band's the shit, i wouldnt like them if they were the type of straight edge that say if you smoke or drink were gonna beat your ass. They just choose to be straight edge that's cool wit me i smoke the bud and just aint givin a fuck

People who brag about being straight-edge are just as bad as people who brag about doing drugs. I smoke pot and love Minor Threat but i'm always asked about being straight edge.

@PxAxAxFxPxOi He's shaved his head consistently since he was a teenager, he's a fan of Ska, Reggae, Oi, he's a working class person, grew up in the 70's/80's during the Skinhead revival in DC.
He's the epitome of skinhead, he's exactly like the rest.

@chinchillahunter3 for the people involved in the DC scene, being straightedge was a way of being different. being forbidden to play live unless they were marked, reacting against the wanton behavior of glam metal culture, and the prevalence of drug and sex education were internalized by these young people to form their own identity.
so rather than an instruction to others, Minor Threat's straightedge was a statement about themself.
