Something useful for beginners which I thought would be a nice break before I put up the next face painting video. Watch in awe as I struggle to make straight lines and circles. I should have done a warm up before I did my warm up.

  • I'm beginning with digital art and I'm using a wacom tablet too, i found your videos in youtube and i think they are great !

do you have any problem with your wrist or your drawing hand after a long use of the tablet? because i develop a case of tendinitis after i change to digital media.

can you tell me any tip or advice about the way i must hold the pen or use the tablet ?

i hope you can help me, thanks a lot !

and congratulations for your great tutorials and for share your knowledge ¡

  • @faunoram It should be very non-strenuous on your wrist and hand. The stylus (tablet pen) should be held the same way as if you were writing.. not too close to the tip, but at the start of the rubber part. Make sure you're using your full arm motion to draw. Your wrist shouldn't be doing any work, and your fingers should be doing minimal work. Keep the tension level minimal and do fast and smooth strokes.

By the way, all of this is important in traditional drawing as well.

  • do you thnik it's better to do such exercises on tablet or paper?

  • @toiler1 I would say tablet since getting good control on that takes more time and effort for a lot of people. As a bonus, you don't have to worry about running through supplies! Both forms are greatly beneficial though.

  • What in da hell was with that intro?

  • @TheNickTheM I love random old stuff. That used to always show up before Sesame Street and other education kids shows when I was a kid.
