Haiti Liberated and rescued other nations, such as Venezuela, Dominican Republic, the United States, etc... - The Haitians produced the world's only successful slaves revolution in 1791. From 1804 to present, there have been Haitian King, Emperors and Presidents. After suffering cruel, inhuman and barbaric treatment in the hands of their white oppressors, the Haitians rose up and fought bloody battles to defeat colonialism and imperialism. Toussaint Louverture defeated the Spanish, the British, and the French (Napoleonic army). The Haitians gained their freedom through self-detemination. The Haitians are strong and proud people. They are simply amazing for what they have accomplished by leaving their indelible imprints profoundly inscribed in the annals of world history. In January 1804, they declared their independence. In the 18th century, the Atlantic stage was shared with three democratic revolutions: the American Revolution, the French Revolution and the Haitian Revolution. In 1791, the Haitians accomplished the unthinkable and shocked the world when they defeated the troops of Napoleon to create the world's First Black Republic. The Haitians continued to help to spread the contagious seeds of freedom across the world. In 1774, Jean-Baptiste Point Du Sable, founded the City of Chicago. In 1779, The Haitian saved U.S. revolution in Savannah, Georgia. The first ornithologist in the U.S. was the Haitian born John James Audubon. In 1813 and 1815, the Haitians helped Simon Bolivar and Francisco Miranda in the fights for the independence of Venezuela, Bolivia, Peru, Colombia and Ecuador. In 1820, Haiti assisted Greece during its struggle for independence against Turkey. The Haitians declared their independence in 1804. It was until 1862 that the U.S. (Abraham Lincoln) recognized Haiti; while the French Revolution was welcomed by the U.S.. Frederick Douglas said, in one of his speeches in 1893 "The freedom that has come to the colored race is largely due to the brave stand taken by the sons of Haiti". He was the first African American to become consul (in Haiti) , a prestigious position. The founders of the First Black Republic were: General Toussaint Louverture, the genius; Emperor Jean Jacques Dessalines; King Henri I (Henri Christophe) and General Alexandre Petion. Toussaint Louverture claimed a Universal Human Right to Freedom and Citizenship for all slaves and former slaves.

  • Haiti liberated so many nations. Haiti is the only country on the planet to be born out of a successful slaves revolt.

  • @serenadesilhout See i agree with you serena that instead of throwing the whole problem to DR, all these nations that criticize should actually be helping both nations and the first nation that should be helping is France. Ther is a lot poverty on both sides, but most people just focus on the haitian and that enfuriates a lot people. So CanadA, France and the U.S. should help instead of adding fuel to the flames.

Remenber that I mentioned " that the whole land was for our natives ancestors ( the Taïños) whome where called Red Skin by the invaders from Spain... Well it's their fault that, they ain't a powerful country!! Tlkng 'bout Haitians that is!! At the reign of Broyer the president! We rules the whole land for over 24 years!!

  • @Billykokred3471224

    Haiti invaded the DR.

Spain helped push Haitians out of DR and back to Haiti proper.

  • I agree, I agree with Billykokred3471224

  • @Synesthesias

Well it seems like ya dunno that much of our country's stories pal! Let me educate ya a lil :)

Uhm before those bastards from spain came to invaded our country! There used to be those whome were called " Red Skin tribes or Taïnõs " living their lives peacefully in the whole entire land which were our great great ancestors! pal!!

However pchycologically speakng ya know that those who will come after 'em gonna have that sentiment of taking over what's was for their ancestors!

  • I believe that most citizens of those respective countries would beg to differ with you.

  • @Elsepulturero01

You are correct. Haiti got their liberation and then tried to enslave the Dominican population. Fortunately the Dominicans defeated them (one time with rocks and stones).

    Bien hecho. Dios Patria Libertad.

  • @THEHAITIAN1804

Apparently you live in America, so what exactly are you talking about?

  • @THEHAITIAN1804

    You are a complete hypocrite.

Haitian expatriates send money back because they live in other countries that give them real economic opportunity, versus the failed state of Haiti.

Secondly, western culture, although not perfect, works. Just look at any westernized African country and you will see the highest standards of living in the continent; Botswana, Mauritius, South Africa are good examples.

Haiti is a failed state by their own hands, plain and simple.

  • if you liberated our country, why we kick you out of our contry in 1844?? and why you we're try to conquest our nation several times after 1844 and we kick you out over and over again.

  • Randal Robinson is abit off.. From 1793 to their independance, Louverture made deals with Britain and the States giving them exclusive trading rights and in return they wouldn't spread their emancipation anywhere else in South America. They spent enough time after the slave revolts of 1791 just trying to protect their own emancipation
