  • Hi Rick thought you might be interested being a fellow uk prepper. I found a uk based website called myprotein that sells 1kg of dried for £12.99. A useful item for when you cant get hold of fresh eggs. Although im not sure how long you can store this stuff for.

  • @lisaloolibell Thanks for the tip - I actually use Myprotien - the whey protien has a shelf life of about 3-4 years so it's a perfect supplement

  • putting stew in freezer backs and freezin it is also a great to store food for long periods of time.

  • @fatto77 unless of course the power goes out :o)

  • @CONSTRINGACY Grow it yourself then - don't rely on others to feed you in a time of crisis or you will just become a victim.

  • @xj14y I emphasize twice in the video the golden rule of - eat what you store and store what you eat! It was the whole point of the video - not sure what you mean about the missed message?

  • Rick I like you and think you are creative and very interesting. I have never had the nerve to do a youtube video. I have a blog and am always nervous about that but I rarely have anyone that sees it and have only had a couple of comments. If you would like to check it out google Grams Survival Kitchen. Would love someone I admire like you to give me constructive criticism. Thanks, Have a great new year!

  • Hi Rick. I love the song/music/melody in this video, especially at the end of the video. I have heard this melody in some of your other videos also but don't know what it is. Just curious, but what is it? It's nice. Thanks.

  • im going to boil the dead people

  • im going to build up a shelter with water and food , enought to life for a year. i am going to use it between 2012 and 2014. after that i think i am going to farm weath. and later start to farm crops.

  • make a few solar cookers, learn how to use them before you need to.- at least they are good to sterilize water.

you can make one basically free from an old satellite dish+white glue + shiny Mylar strips-((big pieces of Mylar create bubbles)) from the inside of used snack packages. dry at least 1 week- see lots of web sites for info.

if I can make one than anyone can. the first test burned a whole in a newspaper in 4 seconds.

make sure you ware really dark sunglasses EVERY time you use it..

  • love the intro

  • great stuff thanks from canada

  • @rickvanman

Another excellent supplement with almost an infinite shelf life is products like Rejuvenate and other Green Drinks with hundreds of freeze dried fruits and veggies and quality protein mixed in. You can literally live on 4 or 5 scoops a day for a long time if it really came down to it. It's expensive, but it's very nutritious.

  • Be careful with anything that has oil fats especially peanut butter. Anything with that nutty fat will go rancid pretty fast. You cannot push the shelf life past the 10-12 months.
