Here's an extreme closeup view of the static test firing of the SpaceX Falcon 9 first stage on the launch pad March 13, 2010. The camera is zoomed in on the base of the rocket. The 9 rocket engines ignited at 12:30 p.m. EST and burned for for 3.5 seconds. This was a dress rehearsal for the first launch of SpaceX's Falcon 9 rocket with a mockup of the Dragon space capsule from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station. Liftoff of Falcon 9 is targeted for April 12, 2010 during a launch window from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. EDT.
