ICE PILOTS NWT premieres November 18 at 10 pm ET/PT on History Television. Renegade Arctic airline Buffalo Airways defies the freezing cold and the competition by using resilient WWII-era propeller planes to fly vital fuel, supplies and passengers to remote outposts all over the Canadian North. Rookie pilots with nerves of steel come from across the country to Yellowknife to receive training from the very best and for the chance to earn their wings flying powerful vintage planes originally built for war. From landing essential cargo onto airstrips at mine sites to carving out runways on frozen lakes and rocky tundra, the Ice Pilots do it all, despite frequent blizzards and breakdowns.

  • And people say the Space Shuttles are overdue for retirement because they're 30 years old? These babies are *60* years old, and hummin' along just fine!

  • Why are you not on TV any more ? I realy enjoyed this show. thanks.

  • I appreciate and respect what these guys do, but I lost interest after the first few episodes because they do the same thing every time, fly airplanes.

  • @tacomadavid68 you are nothing but a fucking troll why dont you go shoot yourself and do the world a favour

  • i love this program its awesome with great dc-3s and dc-4!!

  • Huge fan of this program!!

  • This is just the deadliest catch with airplanes. The reason why their airplanes keep breaking down for is because they are old. Buy some new damm planes. And the boss man I think his name is Joe Mcbryan I can tell just by looking at him he is nothing but a big drunk. That is why they never buy new airplanes for is because he spends all of the company's money on booze. And his fat son needs to loose allot of weight. Fuck these guys right up their stupied asses.

  • Ha!

I worked for for Joe from '87 to '89. He could be the biggest asshole in the universe or the sweetest guy who ever lived. I remember thinking back then: "Fuck, somebody ought to make a movie about this place". Those were good times though, plus Joe paid pretty good.

Now I'm hooked on the show :)

  • The Douglas DC-3 (or C-47 military version) was the baby that I took on my first flight out of Batanes in the Philippine North in the 60s! It was a well-maintained airplane of the Philippine Air Lines (now Philippine Airlines today) then!
