hey buddy need help. my 40gb ps3 blu ray drive dont read disc. if i replace the lense.... what model lense do i need? and if i replace whole blu ray drive... what model do i need?

if i either replace one of these..... u know a good site to get it from besides ebay?

Hi that laser u replaced with orginal one does it reads the normal blu-ray dics or only dvds?? Also if i do my ps3 chipped can i play the copy games online?? thank you...

The replacement lasers read all media. There are no chips out for PS3, so you cannot get info on what will happen with online gaming.

are there any tiny wires in there? Last time i tried replacing a laser on my wii. I accidentally pulled a small wire and had to solder it back. long story short i couldn't get the wii disc drive to work over a small mistake. i was lucky enough to get a free repair from nintendo. are there a lot of small wires in there?

Thanks! this helped me fix my ps3 in ten minutes! My only problem was your camera angle... you were blocking the work with your arm. Had to rewind to be sure what you did.Great upload!

@SteveSpy1967 my ps3's bluray drive died last night, it would only play dvd's, cd's and ps1 games, so i phoned sony and they said that my model has a dvd laser and a bluray laser, they then told me that the bluray laser had died and they wanted £134 for a replacement, i've just bought a replacement laser with deck off ebay for £34, and thanks to your video i'm gonna fix the ps3 myself and save £100! thanks mate!
