Vietnam 1971,,,I can remember this one G.I. ,said he worked on the assembly line for Fo.Mo.Co.s Detroit plant,,,He would play this song over and over,,,and talk about his 1970 Mach1...I was`nt to fond of country music,,,but i liked this song,,every G.I. could relate to it...instead of Detroit (it was vietnam) Can`t remember his name,,but i sure hope he made it back home....

When I was young & got homesick staying at my Grandma's she sang this song to me to make me laugh. I had no clue then who Bobby Bare was, this song brings back wonderful memories!

Bobby sang this song and when I was kid I loved it and today still do I sang this song on a vidio and placed it on my youtube channel stop by if you get a chance.

@georgehoop1 We also sang it back in 67/68 when I was there. Seem every time it would come on the radio we would all sing along. Extra loud on the "I wanna go home" part.

Does anyone remember an old bobby bare song that said "And you can send tomorrow to the moon"? I know it was bobby bare and it was prolly among his earliest work. I would love to hear that again.
