@ceredigio ...I have the name Oscar Weiss, but I'm not sure if this is correct ...
-
@bietebouwer Who composed it? Quite an unusual title for a march!
-
@dalekbitch I believe the Hooghuys at Thursford thats being restored was built around 1914 or just after the end of WWI
-
@KawhackitaRag I didn't know it used to be a dance organ! Can you enlighten me further?
-
I saw one of these this summer and stood in front of it like a 5 year old for several minutes. My music teacher boyfriend wanted to walk away, lol.
-
@pianolasociety Ah right, thanks! I used to have an old 70s/80s Thursford guidebook and they are not shown in that organ's picture! Wonder what ride they were on?
-
@ceredigio the figures are not to do with the instrument. They are just sat on the plinth infront of the organ as a suitable place to display them. Years ago they were exhibited elsewhere in Thursford. They're from some old fairground ride.

This organ was built in 1908. I am not sure if the two figures on the front are original. Can anyone enlighten me please?

One of the best sounding band (I'm from the states) organs I have heard on video. It must be amazing to hear it in person.
