Neat Plane

Last Saturday night, 23 October, I was at a truckstop and found one of the most wonderful planes I've ever seen and wanted to share it with you. It was bought by one of the worlds richest men and was being shipped to a re-builder for a complete restoration in the state of Washington.

Personally speaking, I just want a chance to fly her, just once... I want to make love to her, to caress her, to coax her to yeild to my requests, I want us to become......one.

If you've never flown a plane, especially like this one, you just wouldn't understand...but, nor do I expect you to.

not even close to a stuka, i thought it was a me 109, but when i saw the windscreen and radial cowling, i knew at once it was an FW 190. concur with the comment on top. wished he had said what it was, but evidently the truck driver didn't know, probably was told and his mind is on his paperwork and log book. Thanks to the man who happened to video it

@giannivee1 Thanks, yeah there was a guy who positively identified it as the 190 and you can search that out. I'm really glad I videoed it. I was blessed to have such a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

@smilingscottsman Oh cool, the Germans really had a lot of innovative ideas in Aircraft. We used a lot of them once they surrendered. The germans already predicted swept wings and supersonic flight. It is amazing how far along they were. Good thing we stopped them when we did. If Hitler had started the war five years later, we never would have been able to stop him. They were that advanced, we took them down at the last possible moment possible.

@giannivee1 Well, Hitler came to power in 33 and as I remember the invasions started in 38 I think. I never did figure out why he started as early as he did. I mean, I've said the same thing: If he had waited just 3 or 4 more years....imagine....wow.

I think Germany deserved it's revenge for WWI but his downfall was the destruction of the Jews. Also, if he would have pulled back after taking France and signed an Armistice, he would have died a great man in power. But, ego got the best of him.

It is a "short-nose" Focke Wulf FW190. It was a fighter and the Stuka was a dive bomber. The short nosed 190's were equipped with a BMW radial that ranged 'tween 1,500 to 1,700hp. It was well liked by the pilots who flew her, and I would dearly love to the old gal fly again.

@n5syr1 Thank you VERY much sir. I was told by the flatbed driver that she had a 2000hp engine but it was under a tarp as shown on the vid and he said it was to much of a hassle to take it off for the vid. As I looked at it I could just feel it's pwer and even though I'm not a pilot, I would dearly love to fly it and feel her teeth as I pounded a practise target on the ground. There's just something about that plane.....just something about it..... God, I'd LOVE to fly that plane.

@smilingscottsman If France had only chased the Batallion Hitler crossed the Rhine with years before, it may all have never happened. The truth of Germany is they enjoyed their highest productivity in weapons two months before the end of the War. The Russians, UK, and the US had to actually tackle the Germans. nothing like it has been seen before or since. I can't make out much that sounds logical. It, Hitler, and the Nazis, are an unbelieveable event in time.
