The younger girl was about 15, they were not sexually assaulted, though they might have been had the men not been caught in time.
The Death penalty, is wrong, killing them does not restore life to the victims.
If at all possible, the oppurtunity should be given for these men to make acts of penance, to make something positive of their life to in some way amend what they've done.
If not, they're still in prison for life, and that's enough.
That only demonstrates the system as it currently is, is flawed, not hat people should be killed.
Part of the problem is that the Mentally incompetent are thrown into jail for vicious crimes, and don't get the help they need, and their presence devolves the entire situation more than it has to be.
No. First and foremost, the prison system is meant to REHABILITATE people, PUNISHMENT is secondary.
People on death row HAVE reformed themselves, became a POSITIVE force, took what they did, went to kids and said "Yes, violence doesn't solve anything, don't be like me".
You're denying people their conscious. Soldiers kill people, they even admit what they do is "dirty business". They also make MISTAKES and kill the WRONG people, so should they be killed too?
I think that the death penalty is wasteful. it would serve justice better to enforce slavery to people that are sentenced to capital punishment through the current standard. (with ownership to the next of kin or the will beneficiary)
This gives an economic value to the cost of such crimes. also the owner can sell the slave if they choose. generating a net benefit to society, rather than a net loss.
and given the circumstance that the individual was found innocent later, at least they're not dead
That is irrelevant. Not using the death penalty because it is too expensive is ridiculous. People who commit serious crimes such as the example discussed in the video should be put to death. Turning these sort of people into slaves?! Why keep them alive? Sure, they are human beings, but they are very dangerous to the rest of humankind if they are the sort who are actually willing to do such disgusting things. We make the world better by killing these people.
There have been cases of murders who have got back out of prison and went and murdered someone else. If they had been killed in the first place than that would have prevented another death. Also lifers who are locked away with nothing to lose have no problem with killing guards and other prisoners. I guess prison guards and other prisoners lives are not as important.
I think life sentence of restitution and imprisonment should be implemented over the death penalty. I believe the death penalty doesn't pay for the crime. These people need to be turned into "slaves" and pay the debt of their crime in Gold/Money. Besides its morally acceptable over the death penalty. He he Penal.

I think I know the case you're talking about.
