Is the Greek word for eleven spelled as ένδεκα οr έντεκα by Greeks? I've always felt that ένδεκα seemed more correct as it symbolizes εν + δέκα = ένδεκα.
Is there a difference?
AVIATIO 2 years ago
Well, nowadays, we mostly use "έντεκα", since "ένδεκα" is considered "old". The original word is "ένδεκα" and it is definitely not wrong to use it.

I was taught to pronounce 7 as efta, and not epta. Is it a regional thing?
petie71 3 years ago
It's exactly the same thing, efta is more common! Epta is just a bit more formal.
