A beautiful day in 2007. Arrived at my local beach (Eype, West Dorset) to find all the other pilots just leaving, saying that the wind was too strong. Well, it was blowing 22mph on the clifftop launch, but it was a steady 6-8mph on the beach. Perfect for beach takeoffs (my favourite!). Had a lovely couple of hours of mucking about above the beach, with heights of up to 500ft ASL. Brilliant.

  • Tom, that is a great place you have there. Would love to come shoot a parabatics segment there sometime. Sweet lift band. Bill

  • @RPMPPG Bill, I love your parabatics videos, they are really inspirational. You'd be welcome anytime - if you're ever in the uk just drop me a message and I'll show you some nice flying sites! Tom.

  • Nice beach wagga Tom :-) I had about 20 mins of that at the end of the day yesterday - brilliant fun just staying low above the beach and lower "cliff".

  • Tidy flying Tom - don't you just love Eype?!

  • Much thanks, Tom. I have actually flown somewhere close to there before while visiting my friend David Govier in Devon. Would be great to have you show us around. Thanks again!

  • good Job :)
