  • It's George Mraz. Besides the obvious playing differences, Dave Holland is bald and isn't George Mraz.

  • He no longer has dreads.

  • SIMPLY AWESOME.

  • Lest we forget...Miles was one of the greatest soloist to have ever lived! It's always easier now to play better...having have listened to one that came before and improve on what they did. If Miles not being Miles had a Miles before himself...he'd be even greater than we now know he is.

  • such a good homage to miles, just listen to his tone on this solo!

  • this solo is nice but the album one is even better

  • @bill18286 It's both actually, the melody of Impressions with the bass line from So What (the Directions project was a tribute to both Miles and Trane).

  • @intrepidpooch I dont have time to argue about this, its just stupid

  • @RobbieMacIntyre This ridiculous statement couldn't be any farther from the truth. When Miles was healthy, hitting the shed, and inspired, NOBODY could touch him. Before you even start talking about what he played, his sound was the very essence of jazz. If you want proof, why don't you watch the video of So What with the Gil Evans orchestra, has anyone ever played with that beautiful of a sound?

  • @RobbieMacIntyre

I disagree. Miles had an amazing style and tone. He may not have had the greatest technical skill, but what trumpet players can say they have his melodic sense and such beautifully "exploring" solos? The rest, I do agree with!

  • @livingatmidnight miles isnt actually that great of a player, he was more of an innovator and band leader than a player. it was his biggest dream to play bop with charlie parker, and when he was finally actually on stage with charlie, he couldnt keep up with the tempo!
