@fabuladeum1 If you believe there was a man named Jesus, why not follow him? He was by all accounts the greatest man that ever lived and preached and even if every story about his miracles was a lie, his teaching would still be worth following. The same is true for everything in the Bible. Even if you took away everything about God, you be left with a book of wisdom unparalleled in human history which is perfectly valid and applicable 2 millenia after it was written.
@fabuladeum1 There is absolutely no proof that there is no afterlife and lots of proof of an afterlife from thousands of years or peoples experiences. Near death and otherwise.
@fabuladeum1 1st carbon dating is a heavily flawed and disproven method of age dating. Second, I just showed you accurate info that shows who wrote them. The average life "back then" was often far longer than now. Also documented in the bible. God wants the proof in text as a trial of faith. Dont believe? Fine. Free will, do what you want but dont cry about where you end up. What the hell kind of proof of miracles do you want? Video? Text is all that existed.
@SavedJesusFreak in short there is no eviedence that god exists, is a made up idea from the middle ages before they knew how everything worked, which we now know as science has explained, sure we dont know everything, but thats not a reason to make up a god figure to explain what we dont know, the answer is more sceince! people belive in god mostly for the reason that they are scarred to die and want to belive in an after life, i am happy that all evidence proves that there is no after life.
@SavedJesusFreak i am not aruguing that there was a historiccal figure named jesus, that no doubt preached and was crucified, but i dont belive any of the made up stoies about him, being the son of a god, performing miracles, rising after death, that would break the laws of physics and there is no evidence for any of it. earlier saviour god myths from centurys before jesus had storys with the same elements in, hourus, mythra etc they were just copied from these storys
@SavedJesusFreak The gospels are not first hand account witnesses of the historical figure of jesus, the very earliest(and we dont know for sure at all)i have seen is 70ad, this would of been way after any of the disciples died gievn lenth of life in those days. but you also need to take into account that they werent written by the name of the gospel, thats just what they are called. It even says in the king james bible that the authors of these documents are unknown. and text is not proff anyway!
@SavedJesusFreak can you read? i said 600 years old, not 600AD! so that dates it around 1400ad! i will copy and paste an extract of this from wikipedia:
Radiocarbon dating test was performed on small samples of the shroud. The laboratories at the University of Oxford, the University of Arizona, and the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, concurred that the samples they tested dated from the Middle Ages, between 1260 and 1390.
@fabuladeum1 Uh no it doesnt, any more than the fact that i accept something as true, makes it true. The shroud had never been dated at 600 ad because the carbon dating failed and all the pollen and biological matter one it HAVE been dated to the early 1st century AD give or take a century. Check Wiki on the Gospels. I know its wiki but the references are legit on the article research and conclusions. i spent ten minutes verifying them just for you so enjoy.
@SavedJesusFreak if science accepts it, that makes it true.Evolution is a done deal, dna proved it, trust me. You wont bust proof everytime, you just dont accept it because your ignorant of the facts, theres a difference. Please point me in the direction of your evidence that says the gospels were written pre 70AD. Becasue all the evidence i have seen points to them being 180-280 ad, and as i said anyway, text proves nothing! Oh, and the shroud of turnin was dated as being 600 years old.
@fabuladeum1 Actually the gospels were written pre 70 AD which is well within the lifetimes of most of the disciples of Jesus. So you dont know crap as fact. You cant think God is stupid all you want but who are you to question the will of a being that powerful? He can do what the heck he wants. There is real evidence. Want me to prove that the shroud of Turin is real? I can. Not only that its real but that man couldnt have made it.
