@victorianlulu Are other organizations guilty of the same sort of protection of abusers and rapists? Yes. And those groups and people who have protected them should be held accountable? Agreed?

So then why not the Catholic church? If the best defense you have is "well, other groups do it too!" and "They're all old now" then we're done here, because you're now a rape apologist. The people who helped protect them (such as Cardinal Ratzinger, now Pope) are still in power.

@porlob Yes, the Public schools are passing around pervert teachers to other school systems. The Catholic Church, the One True Church will be here until the end of time, just as Christ said. Jesus said that there will be good AND bad in His Church, and that some will not enter Heaven. The Catholic Church is an easy target. Man is evil, the Catholic Church is holy.

@porlob Actually, the Catholic Church IS doing more than the Protestant denominations and their sex cover ups! I have read where the sex abuse of children/students in our PUBLIC schools in this country is 100 TIMES worse than the Church scandal!! Are they not in positions of authority over chidren? The less than 1% of bad priests will have to answer to God. The Catholic Church has the LEAST number of sex abuse cases. Those bad priests are either dead or very old now.

@victorianlulu After all, if the rapists are deserving of eternal torture in hell as you say, aren't they also deserving of being tried, convicted, and removed from situations where they can harm others, rather than being protected, insulated and be reinforced that nothing will happen to them if they continue to rape children?

If it's "Satanic" to say that children should be protected from rape, then hail Satan. (Note to the irony-deaf: I am not a Satanist.)

@victorianlulu The issue at hand isn't that the rapist priests aren't awful people that shouldn't be in positions of authority over children. Everyone agrees with that...

Except, of course, for the hierarchy of the Catholic Church. THAT is the issue at hand: that the Church's leaders have created an environment where the rape of children is tolerated. Yes, bad people exist in EVERY organization. It's how that organization responds to this issue that they're responsible for.

@victorianlulu Yes, Ringo had a nervous breakdown and "found God" in his 60's. Because of that we should give his Church special treatment and allow them to rape children. Since this video is about suing the Church hierarchy for specific crimes they have committed and only got away because of a ridiculous double standard.
