REMARKS:
While this dance was at Glen Echo's Spanish Ballroom, it has since moved to the Artisphere in northern VA.
The Spanish Ballroom is a superb dance venue. Built in 1933 and restored in 2003, the art deco style ballroom has a wonderfully bouncy, 7500 SF maple floor which can easily handle 6 lines of contradancers.

i though this was a cross between contra for the nes and sonic for the genisis

heard you on metro connection -- this is terrific! nice fusion of beats with trad dance and representation of all generations on the floor. nothing better than seeing some older folks dancing to house. i've always thought there was a need for an EDM sub-genre that was folk or bluegrass inspired.

It wasn't me you heard but I am glad you you heard it. Techno contras are a great way to get younger folks into the genre - and there is lots of crossover between "regular" and "techno" contra attendees.

There was also an NPR All Things Considered piece on youth contradancing last summer.
