The woman everyone loves to hate...or hates to love. Whatever your personal stance on Objectivism may be, Ayn Rand still manages to stimulate the mind even after so many decades. In homage to her great works "The Fountainhead" and "Atlas Shrugged", I've made a stupid puppet film where she fights a gorilla.

While i'm not an objectivist i think your misrepresenting rand here. She did not say altruism is evil she just argued there is nothing virtuous about it.

Also Rand would not demand value (cookie) without providing value.

@CptnChan She said advancing your own welfare is a duty while advancing others welfare is not a duty, if something does not promote one's own welfare it is not a duty. She would definitely say being forced to advance the welfare of somebody, other then yourself, against your will is evil, but that's not what we are talking about,

@twooffour Be specific i'm not sure what your speaking about. If your argument is altruism is virtuous, well it is certainly a viable method to cooperate AT SMALL SCALES, but when done on a large scale there is no rational accounting mechanism to keep record of who is consuming and who is producing so i don't see altruism as a virtue more then a vice.
