Tara Shears of CERN (The European Organization for Nuclear Research) gives us an update on the Large Hadron Collider, one of the biggest science experiments in history. They are ramping up the power of the accelerator in 2011 and 2012 to find the Higgs Boson, they are creating and capturing antimatter and she explains how the 3000 particle physicists at CERN can collaborate on research.

  • LOOKING FOR SOME STUFF THAT MIGHT EXPLAIN ABOUT THE UNIVERSE !! Damn , 9 billion dollars now had been spent and still find any.lol.only the big corporations and manufacturing companies got big money from this project. this project is just a big joke.

  • @alvinabejuro for the budget of 3 days of the US army being in Afghanistan and Iraq for nothing, we are discovering much more from CERN for the enrichment of Humanity and also direct profit to Humanity. The Web was invented at CERN from the exact same purpose and from the exact same type of scientific investment with time and money by the worlds Universities top scientists all working together.

  • This woman is brilliant. I hope she continues to speak to the public. She has a way with words and can explain what CERN is doing to laypersons like myself. Thanks for the upload.

  • Magnets... how the fuck do they work?!?!?!

  • great video thanks

  • love the video man

  • some sweet info here

  • Tara Shears and Brian Cox make it so encapsulating any lay person can understand. I hope there is more like them :)

  • @ianroady How is that possible? I thought it was in Uranus...nyuck nyuck

  • @Whimzy74 like trains that ride on magnetic fields .

search for a video about those trains that ride on magnetic fiedls instead of a rail.

and you get a idea of how they use magnets to accelerate the particles and keep them seperated.
