Hmmmmm, the one circuit where a fettled GT2 with a sequential would smash a high powered (yet windscreened !) caterham and Sabine manages to draw ! Walter Röhrl has managed 7.42 here in a 415ps GT3 and i can't see a stock CSR260 being any quicker than that .... Staged TV nonsense, but fun to watch nevertheless. And its laughable how if a woman can drive she suddenly becomes Emmanuelle Beart & makes all men weak at the knees.... look closely, objectively & ignore the opposite lock: definitely a 7-pinter !

  • Looking at the specs of the CSR260, it's actually quite possible for it to be as quick as a GT2

  • someone should put the new R500 round the ring

the old 230bhp one on boggo M1 dampers did 7.55 a long long time ago and is certainly wasn't driven by a 'Walter Rohrl' ringmeister either

the latest one with 263bhp, an updated chassis and far better dampers would easily be good for 7.40 something... maybe even into the 7.30's

  • Actually I know the guy who drove the Caterham personally! He told me that he had wait for her at some parts of the track! This is not a joke or something, I really asked him about the so called "battle" and he told me the GT2 did not stand any chance to keep up. The rest of the story is that he doesn't have made as much laps on the RIng as Sabine and for the other side it's the gearbox of the GT2 that is just absolute crap. Driver is a Caterham dealer with racing experience (7cars.de)

  • But who is driving the camera car and what it is?`

  • Although the CSR and GT2 have similar weight to power ratios around 5 lbs/hp, for the GT2 to have the same weight to tire-width ratio as the CSR, the GT2 tire-widths would have to be increased from 235 front and 325 rear to 545 and 590 respectively, values that no suspension, especially the puny porsche struts can manage to keep flat on the road while cornering. Therein lies the reason why there is no substitute for lightness. The CSR weighs 1300# vs the GT2's 3000# !!!

  • When I was little, I used to think that bhp was all that mattered. Later on, I learned that weight and centre of gravity make a huge difference as well. Thanks for uploading, although I only understood about 10% of what was being said (rusty school German).

  • @helmuthoorn She's not fat, opinionated and annoying, but I see what you mean.

  • @122A7 agreed, i wasnt even watching the cars lol

  • Damm! The guy driving the Caterham looks so relaxed , then a view of it going around the corners as if on rails!! Whether one likes Lotus / Caterham or not, that is an impressive rate of perambulation. It's a little odd that the Caterham smoked the Porsche away from the start, then the Porsche is riding it's rear end in no time flat. Still, it's a very interesting video. Have to say, Sabine wasn't happy when the Caterham passed her.:;)) It's a Porsche state of mind I do believe:;))

  • It's intelligence and ability that makes women really attractive. Yes?

  • Sabine Schmitz is the female version of Jeremy Clarkson

  • stereo too mainstream for you, eh?

  • Only advantage for Porsche is that Sabina is driving it. Propably nobody knows the ring better than her. If she wouldn't be driving Porsche, it would have zero chance against Caterham.
