  • Unknown tongues,I dont see it as being empowered by the (Holy) spirit, rather the persons spirit.

  • I have to disagree, for the person speaking in the "unknown' tongue didn't know what he was speaking either. I would put the "unknown tongue" a long side

estactic utterances rather than an actual true language. an unknown language can't be a language at all unless interpreted and communicates- agree or disagree

  • I erased my 1st post 2many typo's!

But why is the focus of the matter the Gift of Tongues vs What happens when one is Baptized by the Holy Spirit?"

Also if TONGUES was *only for the Apostles to preach the Gospel to other nations WHY was it NOT the Apostles in Acts 10:44-47 that spoke in Tongues but GENTILES after receiving the Baptism of the Holy Spirit? & in Acts 19:6 these were NOT unbelievers & APOLLOS was a preacher who had *NOT received the Holy Ghost *THOUGH he already believed?

  • Pt.2:

So my question to you lazbo4174 (by the way I enjoyed your video on Col.2:16-17)

Why is the focus on the Gift of Tongues when that is just one operation of the Holy Spirit!

But how about we deal with the CLEAR biblical fact that when they initially received the Baptism of the Holy Ghost they SPOKE IN TONGUES & each place Mt.3:11 which was a prophecy of Christ Baptizing with the Spirit was referenced even by Christ himself in Acts 1:5 then Peter Acts 11:16 & Paul Acts 19:4!

  • Pt.1:

In Mt.3:11 John prophesied that Christ would Baptize believers with the Holy Ghost...

In Acts 1:5 Christ makes mention of the Mt.3:11 prophecy..

Okay so when they were baptized by the Holy Ghost as Christ said in Acts 1:5 what happened?=Acts 2:4

In Acts 10:44-47 the gentiles were baptized by the Holy Ghost. & in Acts 11:16 what does Peter point back to? Acts 1:5/Mt.3:11

& in Acts 19:4 what does Paul ref. Mt.3:11 & what happened next in Acts 19:6 Baptism of the Holy Spirit!
