Well, my betta finally passed away. After 6 years! I actually cride a bit, haha. So anyway, i moved the betta from the tub in the floor and set him up in our guest room. Hopefully, he'll be a lot happier and with any luck, he'll make it another 6 years!

  • I actually prefer female beta fish. I think they are underrated as show fish for a small aquarium.

  • I've had a few but my males always tend to kill them. I'm actually not that big a fan of bettas but the one I had for 6 yrs. so since this one was dropped onto me, I figured I'd give him his time to shine too.

  • 6 years! That is a testament to your good care then. The average life span is 2 to four years. What is your secret? I am loosing one right now and I swear I tried to take the best care of him. I changed his water every single week and followed all the rules of betta keeping and still he is sick and dieing and he is not quite two years old yet. It just makes me sick. I've tested the water and nothing wrong with it. I did not over feed him either. I'm stumped as to why he got so sick.
