Flirty farce? Polite polemic? Morose morality? George Bernard Shaw dives into the battle of the sexes, circa 1893, with such candor that strict British Censorship laws prevented the play from being produced on stage until 1902. We might recognize elements of the debate between the carnal and the philosophic within ourselves; for better or worse, society deems us classic or pathetic. When in doubt, ask Ibsen, an early contributor to the perpetually raffish debate concerning propriety & seduction. Presented by Boulder's Upstart Crow Theatre Company at The Dairy Center for the Arts in February 2011. Directed by Joan Kuder Bell.
