we now have a new feral kitten my husband brought home, this one wasn't too crazy at 4 weeks old but now he's as tame as can be...he just appeared in thier shed/garage and there was no mother or other kittens around, the people kept it for a week there and put out dry food which he couldnt eat. (at tha time he was 3 weeks).waiting but nothing happened, my husband couldnt stand it anyore knowing he was starving to death and asked to take it..so now we have him..

so he leaves food/water out for her and she's doing fine.. she sleeps in his barn...It's been awhile since her release so she has actually gotten a few feet from him, so I guess being with us for 2 weeks showed her that humans are not that bad...I was sad to see her go but she did bite my daughter and sctratch her, so that's when I looked to find her a home..(daughter is ok, went to the doctoer for it)
My feral kitten is mean! we rescued her running down the middle of a busy highway. She was so terrified she didn't notice we had her I guess because she was sweet and gentle, and now that she has calmed down she hisses, spits and bites and swipes! It's been 3 days and no change. We have her in a dog kennel with a litter box food and water...Do you have any suggestions? I would love to tame her, and If I can't, I don't know what to do with her since I don't know where her colony is.

I'm curious to know how the situation turned out as I didn't see this question 8 weeks ago. If you still have her then I would suggest spaying her number one, number two if she won't calm down you have to keep your personal safety in mind. Cats can inflict deep puncture wounds. If your cat ever gives you a serious bite go to the emergency room and make sure they give you antibiotics of some kind. Your cat may need a lot of time to be tamed. Go easy with her, talk softly

UPDATE: well we kept her for 2 weeks and she wouldnt calm down, she got worse every day, so we fattened her up and relesed her on this farm (with owners approval) where she could roam and hunt all the rats he has from the feed... there are no other cats around there, he lives on 20 acres,

Thanks for the update. At least as a farm cat they won't starve. I'm glad to know that kitty had a place to live. :)

I finally caught my Momma Kitty but she was pregnant so we have to wait until her kittens are weaned before we can get her spayed.

Great work! :) I hope the kittens will be able to be adopted out too. I don't think it's so bad to spay a pregnant cat if she's not very far along, but it makes me extremely queasy and uneasy to think of spaying a pregnant cat if they're close to term, so I'm really glad you waited. Thankfully none of the cats I spayed were pregnant.
