( There is no Color Correction in this clip )
Hey everyone !
This video was'nt to snow my ski skills, because there is not so many... this is more about to show the ability of the new GoPro HD Camera.
There is my review.
- The the new GoPro HD is better in the low light from the previous model. But i strongly recommand to shoot at 30p at low light instead of 60p.
- The codec use by the gopro is really hard to work with. I edit this short clip in Vegas Pro 9.0c on a i7 + 12gig ram machine and it stroggle just to show me a preview !
- The 170 degres angle that you get on the HD model is different from the SD model. On the SD you got an 4:3 ratio and on the HD, an 16:9 ratio. That mean you got less room on the top and bottom. I just realize how bad my shots where crop back home.
- I used the chest mount for this clip and i strongly recommand this item to anyone !
- The new HD is slightly bigger than the previous model, so you cant use some of the old accessoirs.
- The rechargeble battery is a blessing !
And there is a lot more....
Have fun !
mines pitch black in these exact conditions...

@syedahmedrazaabidi1 check the video on my site. 32degrees... it does get a little grainy.

@DarthMart congrats, please tell me how is it in very low light, it is grainy or do you think it shows nearly same as human etc.

Good example - I just tried shooting some night / low light stuff in r3 60 fps mode. The results were too dark, and unusable. Your footage on r2 looks so much better.

Im actually looking to get one of these, and potentially trying it out in the club. Anyone tried this yet and if so...results?

@marcuskeeler 100% ACK. I'm no sports user but planned to use the GoPro for discreet filming, given it's a small camera. So far, i'm totally disappoined.

Did you shoot in 720p 30fps or 60fps ? Because in low light I believe 30fps allow more light to come in, as the shutter speed can be slower.

I have found the otherwise awesome GoproHD to be very disappointing in low light. The ContourHD series is FAR superior in these conditions.
In bright light the GoPro is marginally superior.
