nice adventure. I am thinking of driving from Texas to Alaska in the wintertime. There is no snow down here in winter, so I am thinking of heading up there to see all the wildness

Wow what an adventure ! I was going to ask the same as the other poster ? Whats the deal with communications up that way ? Were you carrying a cell phone ( was there service?)...does anyone carry sat phones ( expensive !)...CB radios anything ? The videos you posted were really great and I thouroughly enjoyed them ! I'm sure alot of folks wonder what kind of drive that is like ? You answered that question alright ! Hey how did the dog handle the trip ? Sleep mostly ?

Most of the general traveling population just carries cell phones, and they only work in population locales every couple hundred kilometers. Truckers (most of the wintertime traffic) are connected via radio networks, and use CB.
My dog did fine, just slept, and watched for moose.
I'd recommend doing the trip in the summertime for the first time, there is much more to stop and see and more in the way of travel amenities open as well.

Depends on where you start from. Total driving time was on the order of 50-60 hours.
