  • Open her up a bit, You can go loads faster round Gerrards and Shaws hairpin.

  • Was having gear change issues that day and so couldn't grab 3rd and 4th while on it. Fixed it a few weeks later with a new return spring for the gear change.

  • nice riding m8, considering ure not that fast ure lines are good i think but im with cello69 about being in 2nd around the elbow m8

  • Thanks for the comments...re 2nd on the elbow, my R1 had problems with its gear change that day particullarly 2nd to 3rd so i choose most of the time to keep it in 2nd longer till the straight so i didn't perform a bad change mid-elbow.

Bought & changed my chain at lunchtime, but didn't help much and problem traced a week or so later to weak return springs in the mech.

  • Hey Mo - don't call it a Mickey Mouse track, until you stop running such crap lines. Use all the track. Get on the throttle early, get smooth.

  • Editsr, how about you come over here from SA and try it yourself before talking about crap lines. I might not be the greatest thing on two wheels, but I've been to most UK tracks and Mallory is MICKEY MOUSE, too short and my lines weren't so bad considering it was my first (& possibly last) list. Hell even the pits are little more than a cow shed :-/

  • @fooster101 If you never had the gear indicator, nobody would know what gear you were in,you included, and it is not relevant anyway. You hear the engine, you know when to change,if things are tight,it's not always smart to be reving on an R1 in a low gear,as they have the grunt for short shifting, they have all the torque to keep going well,in the wet, cold tyres, sharp corners. All these gods who bellitle you,why are they not racing on T.V? Answer,They are Wankers!!! Go out, have fun, learn,Enjoy!

  • Mickey Miuse,I've done some track days there with No Limits,Great Day out, each track has it's issues, challenges and good points too. It's just great to be on the bike.Go to Mallory on Boxing Day,watch the Plum Pudding races, that's no Mickey Mouse.
