"Blind Conviction"

Blind Conviction

I was unsure before,
but all doubt has dissolved.
I've never felt anything like this:
conflict within me resolved.

Oh, how I long to touch you,
to feel your touch in return.
Each day this desire runs deeper.
Patience, I'm starting to learn.

Still, the situation we find ourselves
is beautiful, yet unfair.
We're just playthings for a sadistic god:
coincidentals too stark to bear.

I'm of the mind to say
I'd give anything for just a taste:
a week, a day, a moment.
No one second would go to waste.

I long to wrap you in my arms
and slowly breathe you in,
somehow capturing your essence,
capturing you from within.

As irrational and illogical it all seems
that this could be love that is true,
I can't deny what I feel:
I want nothing, no one, but you.

Logic says that only time will tell
what is to become of us.
Blindly, but with great conviction,
in Fate that brought us together, I trust.
