The problem is that what the spectators and cameras most need to see is what the referee also most needs to see. Amateur wrestling continues to have a problem of determining for itself exactly what it wants to become, with the result that the staging of public events is more 'amateurish' than amateur. There is much that the sport's referees could do to at least reduce the level of obstruction they cause, but my sense is that they lack the necessary wherewithal and motivation.

@eaumer2001, the one in Red by fall or decision most likely. The one blue was not going to come from behind apparently with enought time to recover the match or was in emotional condition to put herself together for winning a fall.

@Czerniakowska, they have to move to be in position to count a fall maybe. The problem is that cameras are fixed in one place in many large events like this one.

Too bad the ref's butt was blocking the shot through most of the extended cradle hold. I think the blue wrestler's name is Lindholm, and the one in red sounds like Betsy something. Thanks for posting. Perhaps there's one from a different angle somewhere.

Yet another demonstration of a wrestling referee following what appears to be the unwritten code of using his fat ass to obstruct the views of public and cameras alike. Is there some special reason why wrestling appears to have the most incompetent officials in all of sport?
