Just a update on my progress with my 2002 saturn L100 and rebuilding the top end of the engine.

  • Thanks for the input but the fuel injectors are installed directly into the head and angled in a way that their will be little chance of fuel puddling,. I did ject with the machine shop befor I did it and they said their is no issue with doing it. The head machinest does it all the time for hi performance engines. The intake side isn't perfectly smoothing anyways, rite below the valve seat is still a little rougth witch should give it a bit of turbulance..

  • @Bradbennett1981 Oh cool! I am new to these 2.2, I know 1.9's pretty well lol I hope you have fun with it man, I love my 1st gen LW200 5 spd :)

  • Brad, you really don't want to have smooth intake ports on a head. It causes fuel "puddling" and doesn't create enough turbulence to atomize the fuel well. Although making them bigger helps, it should be a rough finish. The exhaust side however, can be a smooth as you can make it! Nice work though :)
