Great Poet Kazi Nuzrul Islam was not in favour of creation of Pakistan and did not migrate either to East Pakistan (now..Bangladesh) or West Pakistan. In 1972 after liberation of Bangladesh (East Pakistan) , he was invited by Government of Bangladesh and was given citizenship and he stayed there till he died.. However, his love for India and Secularism is indisputable.

@gudsongs -- I am not going for any division....but just to remind you...when this song was written Bangladesh was non-existent....this was written during Indian Independence Movement....so you should mention that as well....and I know his family stays presently in Belgachia, Kolkata....Nazrul Islam also spent last few days of his life on that place....but as per his wish he was taken to Bangladesh....

when he was born, even bangladesh did not exist! FOR YOU INFORMATION, he is burried, with greatest respect in bangladesh, his family are cared for by the bangladesh govt and he is the national poet 'jatio kobi' of bangladesh. His music was key in the freedom movement. Goggle his history and learn something. We are all brothers.
