Where to switch on the keyframe controller? It doesn't appear in the video fx box, when I apply an effect on a video. Same problem on text media.

Easy solved mate. At the bottom you should see two small small lines, if you just hold the mouse cursor on the top-line you should see that the cursor becomes like ^ an arrow, kinda hard to explain. |

Simply drag it up and the box should appear.
