WRFU - Radio Free Urbana - Prometheus Radio Project barnraising

WRFU (Radio Free Urbana) was launched on Nov 13, 2005, during the Prometheus Radio Project's 9th Radio Barnraising. A higher quality version of this video is available at: http://tinyurl.com/bsv2h The station is a low power fm community radio station brodacasting on 104.5fm in Urbana, Illinois and streaming live on www.wrfu.net. The station is hosted in the Urbana-Champaign Indy Media Center's new building (A beautiful old post office in the heart of Urbana.) Six years of planning culminated in an intense weekend where volunteers from all over the country teamed with community members in a weekend of workshops and construction to build and launch the radio station.
