I saw this match at Elland Road and the game the previous week when Leeds beat Man United 5-1'

@councillortheobald too right. Best never performed against the Leeds defence. He was brave enough and super talented but not even he coud take the piss out of Reaney and Hunter. When we hear the praise of Ronaldo and Messi I often ask how they would have fared at Elland Rd in the late 60s. Diffrerent world. That leeds team was one of the 4 or 5 truly great post war British club teams.

What a team, I'm 53 and a lifelong Palace fan and saw Leeds many, many times during the 60's and 70's. Reckon Giles is best passer of a football I ever saw, Gray, when fit, was a magician, and Lorimer regularly decimated defensive walls with his power. Love the 1970 cup final replay, its hilarious now, there would be mass criminal prosecutions if our current crop of millionaires were to do it.
