Red Mountain Mining District is a ghost town in the San Juan Mountains of Colorado. This offroad trail takes you through the heart of the mining district, which features the world-famous Yankee Girl Mine. The Red Mountain Mining District Ghost Town can be found off Highway 550 (the Million Dollar Highway) between Ouray and Silverton.

  • Your videos are AWESOME, they scenery is breathtaking! You did an excellent job of videotaping. Your so lucky to live where you do and be able to experience such beautiful scenery. This is probably the closest I'll ever get to seeing something like this. Thanks so much so sharing this!

  • @3p47L Hey thanks for watching and writing! I love living in Colorado! You should come visit and see these mountains!

  • Hi there .... just found your video site. Thanks for posting. Your videos sure do bring back fond memories of when I used to live in Denver. I am currently living in Johnstown, PA.

By any chance, do you do any fly-fishing? Would love to see videos of fly-fishing in the back country of Colorado.

    Again, thanks for the videos.

  • @SirJohnny9999 I've been fly fishing once in my entire life, so no, I don't have any videos on it. It was fun, though! Thank you for watching and posting!

  • @SirJohnny9999 YAY! Good times. Ya need to high tail it back to CO and do some Jeepin'!

  • Expressing internet interest, and the history is the icing on the cake. A series of DVDs would be great.

  • @cheddarpecker Thank you! Still hoping to get some DVDs created! Thank you for watching!

  • Another great Video Thanks. Got to venture there.

  • Very cool. This really one of the reasons why I live in Colorado (born and raised!).

  • Id love to go here but I live in Boulder...that would be a really long drive! I'll just stick with watching some amazing videos.

  • Sometimes I wish I were rich and not have sit down all day in a job that hardly pays. I would be all over Colorado.

  • @JeepsterGal Bummer about the fly-fishing. I am definitely having a blast this evening watching your videos.
