Tavis Smiley Is a Hypocrite who Doesn't Like President Obama

Smiley will host a conference in Chicago on race on March 20, 2010. According to Smiley he was compelled to hold this conference. He stated during an interview that this conference is not about Obama that it is about us. I say that Tavis Smiley is a hypocrite and a phony. Smileys agenda is personal and anti-President Obama.

I believe that if it was really about US and improving the lives of African-Americans that Mr. Smiley missed a great opportunity to prove to the world that racism in general and employment discrimination in particular is a real issue in this country. He could have used his platform, including his publishing company Smiley Books, to present a personal profile of an African American female who lost everything because of racial discrimination.

He could have also improved the Civil Rights in this country by having a conference on the need to for Congress to improve the Civil Right Act of 1964 as amended to prevent one judge from having the absolute authority to dismiss Title VII (discrimination) cases.

Flat out horrible. If Tavis would've helped you fight case that would have been great, but the truth is that he, Tom Joyner, Rev Al, etc.. get requests by hundreds maybe thousands of people everyday for similar support. Take your energy out on the people who wronged you-the justice system. The word hypocrite is derived from the Latin word hypocrtia it means to SAY one thing & BELIEVE another. Don't let the statute of limitations expire next time. Rule #1. You have to do it yourself. Somehow.

It took at least 8 years and some say 30 to get this country into the economic crisis and it will take Pres Obama more than one term to bring us back toward a path of growth and for him to expand or improve economic equality for all Americans including minorities. I can't understand your blind allegiance to Obama--he's not done anything for Blacks; however, your comment about employment discrimination is the only comment that you've made in your posts that makes any sense to me. But, how much more times should we give this president that had the first two years with full House and Senate support? He squandered his opportunity to do what you've suggested--I agree with your suggestion. Obama lies!

I'm aware that I picked up on this a year late but it appears that it's a little more relevant today. And I know that I didn't hear you saying "attacking " the President? Sis please! Barack is a JOKE & a puppet. Pushing Hilary's failed 96 national id & insurance proposal, 700 bil for banks with 000.5 interest, turning his back on Jerimiah Wright, Farakhan, Carol M. Braun (all of whom he asked to get him elected locally & nationally) to name a few. If he'll do it to them, WHAT are your chances?

I believe that he is a phony not JUST because he didn't help me but because my case would have been clear proof that summary judgments motions are abused by many lawyers and corporations to circumvent the mandates of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. Secondly he is a phony because of his determination to undermind the best man Pres Obama who won the 2008 election. I hope that my concerns are baseless (H.Clinton won't challenge Pres Obama in 2012). V. Richardson
